The Source is a curated directory of invited brands and vendors, brought together for the benefit of individuals and companies who are planning an event. Coupled with the latest trend – led news, practical advice, ideas and inspiration from around the world.
Stepto & Son were approached by The Source to help create a new brand and web presence to launch their new offering.
Approach
The design route we took was luxurious and encompasses clean, polished typography coupled with a sophisticated palette. Our concept was inspired by the idea behind The Source: A beginning, a starting point, providing seeds of inspiration to its clients.
We translated these brand values into the designs by creating a logo that uses letterforms that "emerge" from the paper. These beautiful letterforms represent "a new beginning".
In alignment with the brand that we created, we focussed on keeping the website layout clean, contemporary and stylish with a strong emphasis on typography. The bold typographical elements seen throughout the pages are a key brand element for The Source and help to portray a sense of authority, quality and sophistication. In addition to this, the use of typography also gives the site an editorial feel, (similar to a beautiful magazine spread) which we believed was perfect for the space that The Source resides.
